What a Year!
As we look back on 2022 it feels like a pivotal year in our ministry. After two summers of uncertainty and “pivoting” we were able to launch back into overnight kids camp and it was awesome. We had ups and downs but through it all was the sustaining joy of seeing campers back on property after two years away. We have a lot to be thankful for in 2022 including a record number of summer staff, sold-out programs, a full internship program and a growing year-round team to help with guest groups and 2023 preparation. There’s so much to be thankful for that we’re doing a whole “Year in Review” blog later this month…stay tuned!
We know that these last few weeks of December are packed with Christmas celebrations, holidays and family traditions. Here are three quick things you need to know about what’s going on at Camp Mini-Yo-We before December 31st!
Help Volunteers Through Year-End Giving
Every summer over 200 hard-working adult volunteers serve at Camp Mini-Yo-We.
We’re right in the middle of a campaign to dramatically improve both our accommodations and bathroom facilities as a thank-you for their critically important work. Our goal is to raise $500,000 before December 31st and we could use your help!
We are specifically tackling two projects:
- Washroom Upgrade // We are replacing the public bathroom at Girls Camp used by our volunteers living in Bunkie Row accommodations. You can watch a video mock-up of the new building and learn more on our campaign webpage.
- Accommodation Upgrade // We are updating the Girls Camp bunkies for our adult volunteers. This includes improved interior finishes, new furniture and a fan for hot summer days. We are replicating the work down in Boys Camp and Discovery Camp bunkies over the past few years. Take a look at pictures of what these finished spaces will look like on our campaign webpage.
Your generous gift towards the goal of $500,000 before December 31st will make a difference to adult volunteers for generations. This is an ambitious goal but we would love for you to come alongside us and make these upgrades a reality. You can give directly online through this webpage.
New Referral Program Ends December 31st
This year we completely revamped our referral program for registered families! For years we’ve been on a mission to make inviting friends to Camp easier than ever. We use easy referral codes, send invite cards in the mail and even have pre-written emails and social media graphics available to help spread the word. Learn more on our referral webpage!
In 2022 we went over the top and added big discounts for each new friend you invite before December 31st!
- Your First Referral = $100 OFF // The first time your referral code is used earns you a $100 discount off the cost of camp!
- Your Second Referral = $300 OFF // Your second referral earns you an additional $200 discount for a total discount of $300 off the cost of camp!
- Your Third Referral = $600 OFF // Your third (and any additional) referral earns you an additional $300 discount for a total discount of $600+ off the cost of camp!
Don’t forget that *any* new camper counts in our referral program! That includes a sibling who hasn’t attended Camp before, a cousin, a neighbor or anyone in between.
