Summer is just around the corner, and while many families are making plans for vacations and outdoor fun, others face financial challenges that make the prospect of sending their children to camp a distant dream. Camp Mini-Yo-We’s S’more Smiles: Sweeten the Summer for 77 Kids in Need campaign aims to provide life-changing experiences for these families, and with your urgent help, we can make these dreams come true for 77 children still waiting for funding this summer.
Our mission at Camp Mini-Yo-We is to develop tomorrow’s leaders through life-changing adventure in God’s creation. By donating to the S’more Smiles campaign, you are directly impacting the lives of children who will benefit from supportive role models, enjoyable and engaging activities, tech-free experiences, fostering friendships, and spiritual growth. These are just a few of the many benefits that children in need will receive when donors like you send them to Camp Mini-Yo-We this summer.
Each family’s story is unique, and their reasons for needing assistance to send their children to camp are just as diverse.
Sarah, a resilient single mother who has successfully rebuilt her life after leaving an abusive marriage, hopes to provide her children, Emma and Noah, with a Christian camp environment. She is looking forward to giving her youngest child, Noah, his first overnight camp experience, fostering a sense of community and support in a safe environment.
The Ivanov family, newcomers from Ukraine, have found stability with both parents working full-time. They hope to send their daughters, Anichka and Natalia, to camp for a sense of normalcy amidst the challenges they’ve faced. “We believe this opportunity can help them heal from the challenges we’ve faced,” the couple shared.
For the Martinez family, who gratefully received sponsorship for their two children, Sofia and Lucas, last summer, their financial situation has improved. However, they still need some support to continue the tradition of sending their children to Camp Mini-Yo-We.
Susan is a 70-year-old grandmother who is battling cancer. She is raising her eight-year-old grandson, Timothy, who has ADHD. For her, sending him to Camp Mini-Yo-We is a way to provide guidance and connection with others who share their faith. “I want to give my grandson the opportunity to connect with other kids who share our faith, and I believe attending a Christian camp like Mini-Yo-We can provide the guidance and support he needs, especially during these tough times,” Susan said.

In the words of Maria, mother of Sofia and Lucas, “We’re so thankful for the sponsorship that let our kids go to Camp Mini-Yo-We last year. Our financial situation is better now, but we still can’t afford the full camp fee. We’d really appreciate any help you can give to keep this camp tradition going for our family.”
Together, we can create lasting memories and meaningful experiences for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Camp Mini-Yo-We. Help us reach our goal of sending 77 kids to camp this summer by donating before June 30, 2023, and you can provide “S’more smiles” and sweeten the summer for these deserving children.
