Merry Christmas from Camp Mini-Yo-We! We know that is Christmas Week, but we’re super excited about toilets and sinks and urinals and the list goes on!
This year’s Christmas Campaign is in full swing and friends like you are excited about the fact that we’re updating the washrooms at our Boys Camp site! REALLY!
For 25 years, Boys Camp has been hosted at Edgewoods. Our washrooms at this site are now beyond their operational life, and it’s time that we work together and upgrade them. We’re excited to be able to replace one washroom and completely renovate the other. This is a part of a multi-year process to improve our washrooms across the entire property. In fact, you can take a look at the new washroom we added to our property last summer:
These two washrooms at Boys Camp will feature so many great updates:
- Easy to clean surfaces for our teams // Our design team worked backwards from what our volunteer teams could service effectively. From improved finish materials to easy access to supplies, these new washrooms will be easily and quickly cleaned!
- Up-to-date with the latest accessibility requirements // Our heart at Mini-Yo-We is to be able to host any kid that wants to come to Camp! These new washrooms will meet and exceed the latest accessibility requirements so that we can ensure our facilities will make it possible for more kids to feel great about being at Camp.
- Separate sides for campers and staff // We strive to provide a safe environment for every camper and staff member at Mini-Yo-We. These washrooms are designed to provide segregated spaces for campers and staff in keeping with the most up-to-date child safety standards in the industry.
- Reduce our environmental impact with low flush toilets and more // We believe God has called us to be good stewards of His creation. We’re working to ensure that these washrooms reduce our environmental impact. They will feature low flush toilets to save water, LED lighting to reduce our energy use, and more!
