GIRLS CAMP DIRECTORS
Jane Miller Mini-Yo-We has always been a big part of my life—my parents met at Camp! I have been returning to MYW since the summer I was born. This will be my sixth summer on staff, having previously been a cabin leader, activity leader, LIT small group leader, and director. It is always a privilege to be back on Mary Lake serving with my favourite people. I am most looking forward to witnessing another summer of girls having the absolute best time at Girls Camp!
Emma Reimer I’m so excited for my fifth summer at Camp Mini-Yo-We! I grew up at Ontario Pioneer Camp, but my grandmother served as the Mini-Yo-We Girls Camp director years ago, so this role is a full circle moment for me! I’ve served as a cabin leader, We section head, and twice as an LIT small group leader. I’m counting down the days until dancing in the GC lodge, staff Bible study, and leading alongside our amazing team!
BOYS CAMP DIRECTORS
David Lavell I’ve been serving at Mini-Yo-We for the past three summers as a program head, Enterprise leader, and LIT small group leader. My family has a long connection to Camp as well: my mom worked here in 1999 and met my dad just down the road! Seeing campers grow in their faith and become amazing leaders is the most rewarding part of serving for me. I’m incredibly excited to direct at Boys Camp this summer and see how God works in the lives of everyone around me.
Ethan Wood This is my fifth year at Camp! I got involved through a friend who invited me to join the LIT program, and I have now been on staff for four years. My favourite part about serving at Camp is definitely the community; I felt so included when I first arrived and now I have friends I stay connected with year-round. I am looking forward to getting to know new staff members and campers this summer—it’s a great way to make new connections!
ACTIVITIES DIRECTORS
Katelin Martin I have been coming to Mini-Yo-We since I was five years old and am incredibly grateful to have had fifteen summers at Camp filled with life-changing adventures. The last three years I have served on staff in various roles, and I am so excited to serve as a director for Summer 2026. I’m looking forward to creating opportunities for community and adventure, and encouraging others as they develop into incredible leaders!
Brayden Pesce This will be my fourth year on staff and I also spent three years as a camper. My family has been coming to Mini-Yo-We pretty consistently since the opening of Camp when my grandfather first attended in 1946. My favourite part of Camp is definitely the community and being able to live and serve among other Christians. This summer, I am really looking forward to strengthening my faith and being back on the water zip!
LIT DIRECTORS
Josh Matthews This will be my fifth summer on staff and I have been coming to Camp since 2011! My Grandpa first came to Camp in the ’50s and over the years a bunch of my family have been campers, staff, and volunteers. I’ve been fortunate enough to have met some of my closest friends here. I’m really looking forward to having all the LITs at Camp, getting to know them, and seeing them form friendships that will last a lifetime while growing in their faith.
Avery McFarlane I have been coming to Camp since I was a preschool Grasshopper and this will be my eighth year on staff! Over the years I have served in many roles, including LIT small group leader, We section head, and most recently as one of the Girls Camp directors. To me, the people at Camp are what make it feel like home. I am looking forward to meeting new staff who are joining us, reconnecting with friends, and seeing the vibrant stars on canoe trips!
OPERATIONS DIRECTORS
Kya Francois I started attending Camp in 2012 after being sponsored by a family friend, and I worked my first summer in 2022. I’ve had the wonderful privilege to serve in multiple roles around Camp, and I’m super excited to be back this year. My favourite part is getting to see returning campers and reconnecting year after year! I’m looking forward to the lake, kayaking, and just being near the water this summer.
Abby Stiff I have worked at Camp Mini-Yo-We for two summers in roles like land activity head, and this past year I have been serving onsite as an Internship program resident advisor. I was introduced to Camp by my husband and have loved it ever since! I love the community here and being surrounded by beautiful nature all day long. After living here through the cold season, I am very excited to see Camp green again and filled with the sounds of excited campers!
ENTERPRISE DIRECTORS
Sam Armstrong I’ve come to Camp every summer for the last 16 years! My family has been part of the Camp community for generations, so I came as soon as possible. I started in Junior Camp and eventually spent three years on summer staff in Enterprise and LIT before directing at Junior Camp last summer. I love seeing others grow in their faith while having a great time. I’m really looking forward to the Kitchen Olympics and seeing the Enterprise campers learn and grow together!
Madi Hoy Camp Mini-Yo-We has been a part of my life since I was around 11 years old! I started out as a Mini camper and was immediately hooked. I’ve served as a cabin leader, activity leader, and small group leader for both Enterprise and LIT. I love that Camp offers a community that approaches growth and questions with love. I am so excited to come back as a director and meet all the amazing Enterprise campers and help foster the kinds of friendships I’ve made here!
