Hello Hello!
Thanks so much for joining us today. I wanted to thank you so much for serving at camp this summer. It is amazing to think of all that God has done in you and through you this summer. Serving at camp you stood up and became a Christian leader. Hundreds of people benefited from your willingness to serve this summer. You gained a wide range of experiences, were stretched in ways you couldn’t imagine, and in doing so you became a better leader.
You lived into a hope that the author of the book of Hebrews had for the recipients of his letter. At the end of the letter, the author wrote in Chapter 13 Verses 20-21
“ Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
It is my sincere belief that over this last summer God equipped you with everything good for doing his will and worked in you what is to pleasing to him.
But, the summer is over. So my question to you is this: If God equipped you for services this summer and you grew as a leader, what are you doing now to continue to serve?
How are you using the equipping God gave you at camp now that you are back in your home town, off to university, or just out there in the wider world?
If you don’t have an answer to those questions let me encourage you to find ways to use those gifts.
Three good options:
- Serve at your church: There are countless churches out there looking for passionate, capable, and experienced leaders like yourself. You are exactly the sort of people our churches need to step up and lead.
- Volunteer in your community: The same is true in your community. Go and be a positive light in the dark corners of our world. You can bring grace, truth, and hope into a world desperate for people like you.
- Start a new opportunity: If you cannot find a way to serve make one. You can see a need and address a need by choosing to start something new.
Wherever you are, remember, God has equipped you to serve him. Live into that calling.
Let us know how we can help you find a way to keep serving as a leader in your setting. We are glad to support you however we can.
