Northwoods Canoe Trip

Ages: 14-17
Dates: July 23 – August 5, 2017
Fee: $1295.00 + tax

Northwoods is an incredible ten day canoe trip in the heart of God’s creation. If you are looking to be challenged, learn tons, and have a blast, then the Northwoods Canoe Trip is for you!

For the first five days of the program campers have the opportunity to get to know fellow trippers, practice canoeing, and learn basic outdoor adventure skills. Once the trip is packed, the team heads out together on an 10-day adventure. The average day will include 15-20 km of paddling, multiple portages, dinner over the fire, and sleeping in a tent under the stars.

At Camp we believe that tripping provides a powerful opportunity for teens to learn more about themselves, to develop character, to build long-lasting friendships, and to grow closer to God. A canoe trip is a shared adventure: you prepare together, train together, pack together and travel together. We use known routes and experienced leaders to ensure that campers have the opportunity to experience the adventure in a safe environment. Working as a team to overcome obstacles and do life together builds friendships, develops teamwork, and grows the individual.

Northwoods canoe routes are typically located in the Temagami or French River regions of Ontario. The actual routes for this year will be selected in July to allow us to consider water levels, weather patterns and the specific experience of the staff and campers.

Camper’s don’t need to experienced trippers to participate either! We recommend that participants have basic canoeing experience and competent swimming abilities before registering. Most of the specialized gear required for the trip is provided. Campers will be required to bring some specific personal equipment such as a compact sleeping bag, raincoat, etc. A complete list is provided upon registration.
