Going beyond the basics of caring for your children, our staff are dedicated Christians who have demonstrated their desire to live a Christian lifestyle and lead by example. Many of our staff were campers at Mini-Yo-We who come back summer after summer because they love Camp so much. Staff at Mini-Yo-We are volunteers who raise their own financial support through donations. Each cabin of campers is led by at least one cabin leader. That cabin leader is supported by a section head, who is responsible for overseeing a "section" or age group. There are also staff members responsible for running specific areas or activities who are accountable and responsible to ensure that campers have fun and stay safe. Each camp is under the leadership of its own Director who is a full-time staff member at Mini-Yo-We.
Girls Camp Director - Kirsty Koop
Kirsty has been around Camp Mini-Yo-We her whole life
from the time she was nine years old as a camper until recently when she
accepted the role of Girl's Camp Director in October 2009. Kirsty has a passion and a
heart for ministry to children and young people and wants more and more
lives to be touched by the love of Christ here at Camp. Kirsty also brings
to Camp Mini-Yo-We a loving sociable personality that allows her to excel
in this particular position. Kirsty has been happily married to Mike
Koop for the past 15 years. Kirsty and Mike now have
3 kids Sam (13yrs), Abby (11yrs)and Jack (9yrs). They all love the
outdoors and have settled in to their new school and church wonderfully. Kirsty and her family attend Faith Baptist Church in Huntsville and praise God for all his
blessings and for the opportunity to work for Him at Camp Mini-Yo-We.
