Support Us Financially

Typically, about 2,000 individual children come to Camp Mini-Yo-We each summer for 2,300 to 2,500 "camper weeks". Our staff strive to see that each of these campers has a great experience and hears a clear presentation of what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Camper fees cover the direct operating costs of Camp, including food, program supplies, routine maintenance, utilities, insurance and so on. Mini-Yo-We is dependent upon donors for camper sponsorships, capital projects, year-round staff support and seasonal staff support.  All donations accepted qualify for an income tax receipt.

There's More!

Camper Sponsorships: We provide financial assistance to children whose families are not able to pay the full fees. We ask each family to pay a portion of the fees. Typically we assist 300 to 400 children a year in this way.

Capital Projects: Camp Mini-Yo-We has been developed by donations of time and money. Our donors are committed to providing a place for children to hear the message of Jesus Christ from the Bible through a camping experience that incorporates practical spiritual teaching, skill development, physical activity, friendship and lots of fun. Donations continue to be needed to upgrade the facility to meet new building, safety and environmental standards. Additionally, donations are used to do major renovations to better meet the expectations of today's families. Mini-Yo-We is currently in the midst of A Strong Heritage and a Bright Future, a $1.2 million capital campaign to improve facilities to better meet the needs of current and future campers.

Year-Round Staff: Our budgets are based on all Summer Camp Directors and Operations Staff having a team of financial supporters to provide the money needed for their pay through donations to Camp.  Your monthly donation for the support of a staff member is a great encouragement to them and helps keep Camp affordable.  One-time gifts are also appreciated.

Seasonal Staff: Most of our cabin leaders, activity leaders, section heads, and some of our summer cooks and maintenance workers are college and university students who invest their summers in the lives of children at Camp. Those who serve four or more weeks receive a small honorarium for each week they serve. They can also apply to receive support from our Summer Staff Support Fund, which was established to receive donations to assist these students with their school expenses.

Ways to Give
Money donations can be made:
Camp is also able to receive donations of securities.  This is a particularly advantageous for donors who have publicly traded securities that have appreciated, because such donations are receipted to the donor at the current (appreciated) value and the government waives any capital gains tax.  Download our Gift of Securities Form.

If you would like to know more about supporting Camp Mini-Yo-We financially through planned gifts such as wills, insurance policies or gifts of securities, or if you have any other questions about donations, please speak with Michael Ankenmann our Executive Director at 705-385-2629 ext. 224 or mike.a@miniyowe.com .

Gifts in Kind are also appreciated.  Many people have donated vehicles, boats, furniture, generators and other equipment that is in great condition but they no longer need.   For more information on Gifts in Kind, please see our Wish List.
